Remarks – Reigning champion in the 200mm class, Dutch ace Jilles Groskamp is running a pretty standard version of the new Japanese Infinity car. Equipped with titanium screws, his car features a new prototype gearbox which allows for the use of smaller pitch gears.

Remarks – Italian superstar driver Dario Balestri is kicking off his title defence here in Bologna running the RS version of the Capricorn 8th scale car. The main feature on the new car is the chassis, which is narrower in the rear end to allow for longer suspension arms. Dario’s car is equipped with a set of Avid bearings and is powered by a “Black Edition” version of the Tesla engine which features a different crankshaft timing, which produces more punch.

Remarks – Managing to get a spot in the A-Main for the second year in a row at this event, young Italian driver David Loppini is racing a private Xray NT1 with a number of modifications he conceived that are also the core subject of his thesis in mechanical engineering. Working mainly on flex, he handcrafted from carbon fibre a V-shaped front stiffener, a rear transmission axle stiffener and a bridge between the radio tray and the rear end. In the front end he obtained a 10% rigidity improvement by locking the arm pins to the bulkheads, the pins themselves functioning as torsion bars.

Remarks – Ettlingen race winner and ENS regular Dirk Wischnewski is running the Black Edition of the Shepherd Velox V10.  His car features a one-piece engine mount, hard plastics all around and steering knuckle lever extensions. It is also equipped with titanium screws from Brilliant RC.

Remarks – Former World Champion Daniele Ielasi stormed to TQ in round 3 of qualifying here in Fiorano running a kit standard version of the WRC manufactured GTX. Having destroyed one of his cars which featured some prototype parts in the front end, he switched back to the standard spare car which is powered by the latest development stage Ielasi Tuned engine.
